About Us

Groove Box is a space that offers many different classes in surrey and Hampshire to children and young adults. There are classes available for everyone! Those wanting to have fun, grow in confidence and learn something new and classes for those who take it more seriously with shows, festivals and potentially want to enter the performing arts industry.

Amy Matthews is the creator of Groove Box Academy of Performing Arts and the its outreach programme in schools Busta Groove, which offers after school clubs, birthday parties and holiday workshops. Amy grew up in Yorkshire before moving south at 16 to study musical theatre at Italia Conti, Mountview, and finished a fantastic three year full time musical theatre course at PPA in Guildford.

Amy has been in shows such as Bat Out of Hell (Australia, USA, UK), Closer to Heaven (Union Theatre), Snow White in Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford), Lead Vocalist aboard Celebrity Summit & Solstice (Celebrity Cruises), Fairy Godmother in Cinderella (filmed), Lead Vocalist at MTV Charity Ball (MTV) and Vocalist for the Amazon Christmas Commercial in 2019, and she has also set up Amy Matthews Music where she performs at weddings around the world.

Amy is highly experienced as a freelance tutor in dance, singing, acting & Lamda. With the experience of performing and teaching, Amy has always dreamt of creating a school children and young adults will love!

Amy has a brilliant, fully qualified team who work alongside her, of which many are in the business themselves!
